As we sit at our desks on the brink of tearing the last page from our September calendars, we can’t help but get excited for all things Halloween ahead. Many haunted attractions are opening their doors this very night across the country, and someone, somewhere is buying their first bag of candy corn for the season, tearing open that bag before quickly stuffing way too many sugary corn cones in their mouth! Yes, the season of spirits and sweets and falling leaves is upon us, and the team at Sin City Playwear couldn’t be happier!
While all the fun leading up to Halloween proves that it’s not just about the destination but the fun of the journey, Halloween night itself is a one-of-a-kind evening that many find to be the most fun of the year. In recent years, as the popularity of Halloween parties for adults has continued to climb, many have even claimed that Halloween is the new “New Year’s,” and personally, I prefer it by far! For one, you get to wear a sexy costume. And then of course there is candy, which is always good. I also love that it’s a fun day for kids and adults. Even if you don’t see any kids that day, you can feel the excited energy in the air! And…there’s no stress, no pressure. No ball dropping, no resolutions, no worries! But that doesn’t mean there’s no preparation. You may not have to dust off the fine crystal for a champagne toast, but you do need to put together a super sexy Halloween costume.
If you want to be sure no one at the party will be wearing the same thing, it’s best to steer clear of the mass-marketed costumes at Halloween shops. While many of them are a great mix of cute and sexy, the same costumes are found in many stores both online and off. As such, many parties end up having not 1 but 3 or 4 identical sexy cops in stilettos! Suddenly each cop is comparing herself to the other cops, stressing over who looks best in the costume, and the lighthearted nature of the evening is compromised. So…create your own costume, or opt for one you’re certain you’ve never seen before! If you put together your own look and someone else happens to be wearing the exact same thing, we’d say you’ve found yourself a new best friend, so either way it’s a win!
When putting together your costume, keep a few simple things in mind…
